A two night stopover on our way to Costa Rica!
WHERE WE STAYED
The Shelborne by Proper located on famous Collins Avenue exudes classic 1940’s art deco architecture and underwent a $100 million renovation in 2025 adding modern coastal luxury to a historic building.
WHERE WE ATE
AVIV, which means “Spring” in Hebrew, is the latest culinary venture from acclaimed Israeli-born chef Michael Solomonov and restaurateur Steve Cook, whom are both James Beard Award winners. AVIV blends ancient cooking techniques with the vibrant, modern atmospheres of Miami and Tel Aviv.
✈ If they have the dirty martini with the labneh olives, order it!
Sunny’s Steakhouse - located in the Little River neighborhood, Sunny’s features raw bar selections, wood-fired proteins, steakhouse classics, and handmade pastas. Opt to sit in any of the outdoor dining spaces as they are all funky and spectacular.
OUR ITINERARY
DAY ONE: Arrived in the evening, checked into our hotel, changed and walked to dinner at AVIV.
DAY TWO: Ordered coffees and fresh squeezed juices to the room and enjoyed a slow morning. We changed into our suits and headed to the art deco pool where we spent the entire day, enjoying cocktails and lunch poolside. Once showered and ready to go, we took an uber to dinner across the bridge into the Little River neighborhood and ate at Sunny’s Steakhouse. We ended our night back at the hotel at their hidden cocktail bar, Little Torch, which had a DJ spinning 70’s/80’s R&B, Soul, and Dance music.
